Trini's Filmography 

To all you Trini Lopez movie fans out there.  You may want to check out a motion picture "El  Cantante" produced by and staring Jennifer Lopez.  Marc Anthony, Ms. Lopez's husband, has the role of El Cantante (the singer).  Jennifer mentions Trini Lopez in the movie!  This film was released about 3 -4months ago in September or October.  Also, there is a new motion picture that was just released and is getting rave reviews.  The movie is titled "I'm Not There" and is the story about Bob Dylan.  Bob Dylan wrote or sang all the songs in the movie with the exception of one song.  Believe it or not that one song is Trini's version of "If I Had a Hammer"!!  Most of the song is played near the beginning of the movie.  For your information, Bob Dylan has said in many interviews that Trini Lopez is one of his favorite singers!

Trini
plays himself in this film made by the UN to help bolster efforts to stop drug trafficking and abuse.  Full of stars, most of whom  worked for scale to cut down costs. The cast included  E.G. Marshall as the hero of the piece, Senta Berger, Stephen Boyd, Yul Brynner, Angie Dickinson, Hugh Griffith, Georges Geret, Jack Hawkins, Rita Hayworth,  Trevor Howard, Grace Kelly, Jocelyn Lane, Marcello Mastroainni, Amedoe Nazzari, Jean-Claude Pascal, Anthony Quayle, Gilbert Roland, Harold Sakata, Omar Sharif, Barry Sullivan, Nadja Tiller, Marilú Toló, Howard Vernon and Eli Wallach.

Dirty Dozen

plays one of the 12 convicted felons selected for a dangerous mission behind enemy lines in this World War II action film from director Robert Aldrich. Lee Marvin plays a tough U.S. Army Major who must train a violent group of criminals for one last mission - a suicide mission. All star cast includes Telly Savalas, Charles Bronson, Jim Brown, Donald Sutherland and John Cassavetes.  Trini also sings "The Bramble Bush" in this movie.

The Phynx (1970) Description:
Trini
plays himself. Designed as a satirical farce, the story centers on a computer-generated rock group who are ostensibly assigned to play a concert on the East side of the Iron Curtain. Their real mission is to find and return American popular icons who have been kidnapped by the communists. Among the missing are former Bowery Boys Leo Gorcey and Huntz Hall, band leaders Xaviar Cugat and Guy Lombardo, ex-champ Joe Louis, Maureen O'Sullivan, Ed Sullivan, Dick Clark, Ruby Keeler, Johnny "Tarzan" Weissmuller, fried-chicken magnate Colonel Sanders, crooner Rudee Vallee, Jay "Tonto" Silverheels. Dorothy Lamour, flamboyant rocker James Brown, and of course, Trini.

This is the story of a rich Texan, (Larry Hagman) who gives his expensive Mercedes to a poor potter (Trini Lopez) Complications arise when the potter tries to return the car. An interesting note is that Larry Hagman's portrayal of a rich Texan was before he was cast as J.R. Ewing in the television series, Dallas.
